What happens after a CIGRE paper is presented? Join us for a practical webinar that brings the research into the field.
Based on the poster presented at the CIGRE Paris Session 2026, this webinar explores how partial discharge was successfully detected and localized on a high-voltage transformer bushing using OptiFinder and fiber optic acoustic emission sensors. We’ll walk through the project, explain the monitoring approach, demonstrate the localization results, and share practical lessons learned from real-world implementation.
Whether you attended CIGRE or couldn’t make it to Paris, this webinar offers the key takeaways from the poster presentation, enriched with practical insights, expert commentary, and guidance on applying fiber optic acoustic PD monitoring to improve asset diagnostics and maintenance decisions.

Hamed Hashemi-Dezaki (Ph.D.) is a Principal Partial Discharge Engineer at Optics11 B.V., Amsterdam, the Netherlands, specializing in partial discharge diagnostics, fiber optic acoustic emission sensing, and condition monitoring of high-voltage assets. He has more than 15 years of experience spanning academia and industry in high-voltage engineering, transformer diagnostics, power cables, GIS, and predictive asset management. During the past three years at Optics11, he has led the deployment of advanced fiber optic acoustic emission (FOAE) technology for online and offline partial discharge monitoring and localization of transmission-class transformers and other critical electrical assets worldwide.
Prior to joining Optics11, Dr. Hashemi-Dezaki worked in an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory, where he was involved in type tests, routine tests, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), on-site diagnostics, and inspection of high-voltage equipment. He has also held academic positions involving teaching, supervision of graduate students, and research in high-voltage engineering. Dr. Hashemi-Dezaki has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications, with over 3,000 citations. His current interests include high-voltage engineering, partial discharge, transformers, asset management, predictive maintenance, and digitalization of power system diagnostics.
