Ahmed Gamil

Ahmed Gamil is a transformer design and thermal management specialist leading application engineering at Cargill. With an M.Sc. in High Voltage Technology from RWTH Aachen, his career includes serving as a Domain Expert at Hitachi Energy (2022–2026) and Head of R&D at SGB-SMIT Group.

A key figure in international standardization, Ahmed developed the “G-Approach” for temperature rise and serves on IEC MT 60076-2. In CIGRE, he leads task forces within JWG A2/D1.72 (Retrofilling) and JWG A2/C4/D1.77 (VFT Overvoltage), and is a contributing author to the CIGRE Green Book on “Transformer Life Management.”
